GOVERNMENT FUNDING

The government provides either 15 or up to 30 hours of funded hours per week (to cover the 38 week school year), but to help with all year support, we can ‘stretch’ this funding over the 51 weeks. This effectively means you will use 11 or 22 hours per week, rather than 15 or 30 hours and ensures your child receives a consistent allocation of hours across the full nursery year. This enables you to plan your outgoings and budget accordingly without having to face higher amounts in school holidays. You can also opt for term time only attendance.

Am l eligible to access funding?

    • 9 months to 4 years: Children can receive up to 30 hours per week (22 hours when stretched) if you meet government eligibility criteria.
    • All 3 and 4 year olds receive 15 hours (11 when stretched) – everybody qualifies.
    • 3 to 5 years: Children can receive up to 30 hours per week (22 hours when stretched).

Full details and information on eligibility can be found at: www.beststartinlife.gov.uk

When to apply: You’ll need to apply the term before you want to start using your funded hours. Funding applies the term after your child reaches 9 months, 2 years old or 3 years old. Typically, term dates begin on 1st September, 1st January and 1st April.

Apply for your Childcare Code: if you are eligible, you will given an on-line Childcare Account and a code for the funded hours.

Share your code with us: When you send us your code and your National Insurance Number and your child’s date of birth, we can then check everything is valid and ready for your child to start at Giggles.

Remember to re-confirm your details every three months to keep your code active. Failure to do so, will affect your funding claim.

PLEASE NOTE WE ARE UNABLE TO APPLY ON YOUR BEHALF

Sustainability Fee

In line with government guidance, our Sustainability Fee is non-mandatory.

The government’s Early Years Funding covers the delivery of the statutory Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) only. It is not intended to cover the cost of meals, snacks, drinks, nappies, sun creams and the many other items that we provide. To support this, a sustainability fee (3 and 4 year olds) is applied to your invoice and contributes towards the many resources your child will use and benefit from. We believe these items are a key part of providing high quality childcare and education while supporting every stage of their development and helping children build essential skills and confidence, while having fun in a caring and supportive environment.

To keep things as simple as possible, everything listed herein is included (but not limited to) within our all-inclusive nursery fees. If you would prefer your child not to benefit from our all-inclusive package, you are able to opt out.

    • Nappies, nappy cream and wipes
    • Baby formula and bottles
    • Nutritional and healthy two course lunch and teas
    • Delicious healthy snacks and fresh fruit available all day
    • Suncream
    • Teething gels, Calpol, Piriton (when required and approved by you)
    • Resources for celebrations & events outside of the EYFS curriculum
    • You will receive a lovely back pack personalised with your child’s name

Please speak with Lisa, our office manager, if you would like to discuss the sustainability fee further.

    • The nursery’s normal opening hours are 9.00am – 6.00pm Monday to Friday – 51 weeks of the year.
    • We close between Christmas and New Year and all Bank Holidays.
    • Fees are payable monthly in advance by BACS by the last day of the preceding month or if paying by cheque, by the 24th of the preceding month.
    • Fees are charged over 51 weeks and divided by twelve equal monthly payments and are still payable because of sickness and holidays.
    • Full time fees are discounted by 5%

What will I pay for Childcare

To cover the cost of food and many other consumables, we charge a sustainability fee for our all-inclusive package. At Giggles, you can claim for up to 10 hours of funding per day and up to 5 hours per morning or afternoon session.

Government guidance requires us to state the individual cost of each item with our all-inclusive package, although the items are not for individual purchase.

We will be invoicing for the following food, consumables and activities, although you have the option to opt out and you would then need to provide your own meals and consumables on a daily basis.
